KVPY

I gave the KVPY in class 11th and 12th. I failed miserably in class 11 (scored 42 marks cut off was 53 or something). So it was a sort of a revenge for me when I gave the exam in class 12. I got 84.25 (double than class 11). Revenge is a dish best served cold.

KVPY Theory Paper
I did a detailed analysis of the previous years papers which helped a lot. What I think helped a lot was reverse engineering of the papers. I saw the questions and then found out what topics were more important and then studied those chapters thoroughly. I did get my revenge in the end.

KVPY Interview
This was over pretty quickly. Just 20 minutes. The professors that took the viva really good and looked and sounded as if they knew everything. The interview starts with pretty simple but not straightforward questions. I thought I had done fairly good in the interview but they just gave me 45 marks or something out of 100. But I didn't care because I had the feel good factor after the interview. There is no such syllabus for the interview they can ask whatever they want. And the interview doesn't end until you make mistakes.
